How to authenticate MyCase with older versions of Microsoft Word.

For older versions of Word on PC platforms, Microsoft renders add-ins like Woodpecker using the Internet Explorer web browser. Unfortunately, the MyCase authentication protocol does not support this browser. Therefore, we cannot securely authenticate MyCase users from these platforms.

In this situation, we recommend that you upgrade your version of Microsoft Word to a more recent version. Microsoft deprecated Internet Explorer as of June 15th, 2022. This means that you are no longer receiving security or feature updates. According to Microsoft, users should upgrade to Windows 10 version 1903 or higher and Microsoft 365 version 16.011629 and higher.

However, if you are not able to update your version of Microsoft Word, there is another workaround. You can use Word Online from a web browser and authenticate to MyCase on this platform. Fortunately, once you are authenticated, you can go back to your desktop version of Word, log in to Woodpecker, and map your fields normally.
